Girl in Disguise

Girl in Disguise by Greer Macallister

Real life meets historical fiction in this book. It is based on the true story of Kate Warne, who began working as the first female Pinkerton Detective agent in 1856. Although little beyond bare bones facts are known about the real story of Kate Warne, the author has taken what is known and then imagined the rest of the story. This is an intriguing book and left me wanting to know more about this remarkable woman.
