A Year of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs
recommended by Bryan
I love this book, and have read it two or three times. I enjoy studying theology and learning about other religions. This book covers my interest in learning about Judaism in an educational, yet humorous way. Jacobs is a secular Jew who writes memoirs. For this writing project he was inspired to try to live biblically for an entire year. The first nine months by following the Old Testament, or Hebrew Bible, and the last three months following the New Testament. This book is loaded with great anecdotes relating his successes, failures and frustrations in trying to live biblically in our modern culture, with a wife who was not really in favor of his project.
